Due to the wide variation and styles of web design, pricing can vary considerably. However, there are a number of basic parameters that can help determine roughly what is needed:
The most straightforward, economical and accessible of web site designs, the static web site is the most common and practical solution to most people’s promotional or informational web presence.
Dynamic web sites are based around ‘templates’ that are populated by information from an on-line database. This can store text or images. Typical examples would include on-line catalogues, photo galleries, blogs and reference information.

Much the same as the standard Dynamic site, Shopping web sites also include the capability to purchase goods or services on–line. This therefore requires a secure setup, and handle credit card payments etc. It can also interface to other databases such as stock control and ordering systems. Note that certain Payment Service Providers may be required at an additional cost.
Flash is an alternate medium for creating web sites. Rather than uploading a framework of code and images as HTML does, it plays as single “movies”. Flash allows very graphics and animation rich pages to be created, which are capable of far more than most typical HTML pages, but the downsides include the fact they are more time-consuming to design and build. |
